Government disagrees on compulsory sex education

The Department for Education (DfE) has published its response to the Education Select Committee’s report on personal, social, health and economic education, and sex and relationships education in England. The response emphasises the need to improve the standards of PSHE lessons, but does not agree with the suggestion that PSHE should be made compulsory.
